Every day , after the ride, the participant can enjoy the swimming pool ( if open at the hotel), or just visiting the beauty of the city and its surrounding historic places, accompanied by our guide. It is also possible schedule a day trip to Florence, if the majority of the participants will agree.
BOLOGNA: Located just a train ride from Milan or Florence, the largest city in the Emilia-Romagna region, La Dotta (another nickname meaning the “the learned one”) is also home to the University of Bologna, the oldest university in the Western Hemisphere, which lends a vibrant energy to this ancient medieval city.
Stroll under Bologna’s miles of splendid portici, the porticoes that line the streets; climb one of its Due Torri (“Two Towers”); sip a cappuccino in the Piazza Maggiore while taking in the gothic Basilica of San Petronio; and taste your way through this historically, culturally, and culinarily rich city.
RIVIERA ROMAGNOLA: Many know it as the Riviera of Fun, given its expansive and well-maintained beaches and innumerable attractions; the Adriatic Riviera (in Emilia Romagna) is one of Italy’s best-known beach resort localities, and no doubt that the Riviera of Fun is a definition that suits this coast very well. The Adriatic Riviera is also an optimum the more athletic among us, offering everything from cycling, sailing and golf, to hiking and canoing, among other activities. Sun, sea, sports, great cuisine, fun and even culture are the factors contributing to a Riviera vacation well-spent. Close by is Ravenna, made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 for its glimmering and breathtaking Byzantine mosaics.
